  • Tue, 00:36: Reading The Hunger Games makes me want to write a YA novel that really fucks with gender coding. Thanks brain, I totally have time for that.

Amnesia

Should I ever write an amnesia fic/storyline, it will have to include this:

For whatever else has happened in your life, whatever else you’ve gone through, what’s happened between the accident and now matters. You can’t wave away what’s happened in these past months anymore than you can for the years before that. The last few months, what’s happening right now, these will make you who you are as much as anything else that’s happened does. If – when – you get these memories back, you’re not going to be that person anymore. You’re not just going to turn back the clock. Because now you’ve been through this, and this will change you as much as anything else you’ve gone through has. You won’t go back to who you were before – that’s impossible. When you remember, you’ll be more.
